About Library

The college library's primary focus is on supporting the academic success and intellectual development of students. It serves as a vital academic resource, providing students and faculty with access to a wide range of learning materials, including books, journals, daily newspapers  and digital resources and create a dynamic learning environment that supports students and faculty. It aims to be a central hub for information access, fostering intellectual curiosity, and promoting lifelong learning, supporting the college's educational mission. Our college library has good collection of books in the field of Humanities and Commerce.
Students can also have access to National Digital Library of India, which is a virtual repository of learning resources and also provides a host of services containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media for the learners/users community. It is a project under Ministry of Education , Government of India through its National Mission on Education. The objective is to collect and collate metadata and provide  full text index from several national and international digital libraries, as well as other relevant sources. The NDLI provides free of cost access to many books. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. To register in National Digital Library use the link ( https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in/account/registration ) and further students can be the member of NDLI Club set up by the institution.

 

Library Rules

All the students are directed to adhere to the following library rules strictly;

  • All the students on the rolls of the College shall be eligible to become member of the College Library.
  • Every student is entitled to draw two books for reading at home for a period of fourteen days from the library.
  • Books can be reissued twice , if required.
  • The borrower shall be solely responsible for the safety/preservation of the books drawn by him/her.
  • A fine of Re. 1/- per day per book will be charged beyond due date of submission of the book from the defaulter students.
  • Reference books are not issued. They can be consulted in the library after obtaining permission from the librarian.
  • In case of loss of a book, the student will have to replace the book or pay fine in addition to the present price of the book with special permission of the Principal.
  • Books are issued only on the production of Identity Card.
  • In case a book is found mutilated, torn or defaced the actual cost of the book plus 20% of the original cost will be charged from such defaulter student.
  • Students can get their library security refunded within two years after leaving the College; failing which the security will stand forfeited.

Our library extends its services beyond current students to its alumni. Former students of the institution are welcome to use library’s reading room as a quiet place for studying and preparing for their competitive examinations on working days from 9am to 5pm. This special facility is provided to support the continued education and career development of its past students.

How to Locate a Book?
The books in college library are arranged on shelves in numerical order according to the ‘DEWY DECIMAL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM’, which divides all books among ten main divisions. You can search a book by the name of the author, title of the book or by the subject according to the class numbers from 000 to 999
Browse by Author - To find a book by the name of specific author (alphabetically by the surname of the author) click here.
